I'm the founder and heart behind JemCo Publications — a Brisbane-based mum, wife, medical receptionist by day, and lifelong creative by night. Art, storytelling, and beautiful stationery have always been part of who I am, and somewhere along the way, my love of design collided with my love of books.
“Jem” is what my mum has always called me. Naming this business JemCo was my way of honouring family, creativity, and the little gem of an idea that grew into something truly magical.
Why I Created JemCo Publications
JemCo was born from a very real reader problem: the ever-growing TBR pile, the reading slumps, and that quiet ache after finishing a book you loved with nowhere to put all those feelings.
As a busy mum juggling work and family, I wanted something that was just for me — a way to reconnect with reading, reflect on the stories that moved me, and actually celebrate finishing a book instead of rushing straight to the next one.
I couldn't find a journal that felt both practical and beautiful, structured yet whimsical. So I made one. What began as a personal fix quickly became a mission: helping readers everywhere fall back in love with books, one page — and one finished story — at a time.
A Cosy Ritual, Not Just A Reading Log
Reading has always been my escape — a quiet place to dream, imagine, and reset after a long day. Journaling became the way I held onto it all: the characters I loved, the worlds I visited, the way a really good book stays with you long after the last page.
To me, journaling about books was never just about tracking titles. It's about capturing memories, celebrating milestones, and turning reading into a ritual that feels special again. That's what goes into every JemCo journal — thoughtful guided prompts, creative challenges, and beautifully styled pages that feel like a warm hug for book lovers.
Our Vision
My vision for JemCo Publications is simple: a world where readers — especially busy women and mums — can rediscover their love of reading without guilt or overwhelm. I want our journals to sit proudly on bookshelves everywhere, helping readers slow down, reflect, and feel proud of every story they finish.
Through JemCo, I hope to grow a community of fellow book dragons — people who celebrate progress, share their reading journeys, and find joy in the small moments between the pages. Because this was never just about selling journals. It's about making reading feel magical again, one finished story at a time.
